Anna Romain
End of Life Doula
For over 31 years, Anna has passionately dedicated herself to Community Health Care. With extensive managerial experience and her role as Regional Director for a private Health Care Agency, she recognized the urgent need to enhance support for palliative patients who wish to spend their final days at home.
As a seasoned Health Care System Navigator, Anna has cultivated strong collaborative relationships with various Ontario Health atHome Community Support Services. In 2012, she earned the Lean Health Care Yellow Belt-Silver Award and was honored by The OHA with a Certificate of Distinction as a Lean Health Care Yellow Belt recipient. In 2016, Anna contributed to a system redesign focused on Integrating the Patient and Family Voice for the Central West CCAC.
Acknowledging the significant gap in at-home community support for palliative patients and their families, Anna felt a deep calling to the Home Hospice Association’s training program for those aspiring to become Death Doulas. Anna’s commitment to compassionate care goes beyond her professional accolades; she actively participates in community outreach initiatives that empower families with knowledge about end-of-life options. She believes in equipping individuals to make informed decisions that reflect their wishes and values.
Through her work, Anna creates a nurturing environment where patients and their loved ones are supported, respected, and cherished during their most vulnerable moments.
